PLAYWRIGHTS' LABORATORY
Plan-B Theatre Company and Meat & Potato Theatre are joining forces to sponsor a new writing program for Salt Lake playwrights. Plan-B's mission is to develop and produce unique and socially conscious theatre. Meat & Potato's mission is to create the most powerful theatrical adventures possible by utilizing forgotten, ignored, or distorted theatre styles. Combine the two and it's the perfect laboratory for new work! THE SKINNY The purpose of the Playwrights’ Laboratory, led by Tobin Atkinson, is to create a nurturing environment where local writers are encouraged to develop their own theatrical voice through hands-on exercises. The exercises will assist the playwright to discover new and better ways to tell, stories, grow characters, and break “writer’s block.” The writing exercises will alternate monthly between assignments prepared outside the class and “in-class” projects.
